Born on 30^th December 1965, Justice Vinod Kumar obtained his degree of Bachelor in Arts from M.L.N. College Yamuna Nagar (Haryana). He completed his LL.B. from Kurukshetra University in 1987 and started his practice at District Courts, Faridabad. 

Justice Vinod Kumar was selected for the Delhi Judicial Service in 1992 and was promoted to the Delhi Higher Judicial Service in 2003. 

During his service tenure spanning over a period of 32 years, Justice Vinod Kumar has served in various capacities viz. Metropolitan Magistrate at Tis Hazari and Patiala House; Civil Judge at Tis Hazari; Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate at Karkardooma; Additional Sessions Judge at Patiala House and Tis Hazari; Spl. Judge, PC Act, CBI at Rohini and Patiala House; District Judge (Commercial Courts) at North-West District, Rohini; Principal Judge, Family Court at South District, Saket; Principal Judge Family Court (HQ) at Dwarka; Principal District & Sessions Judge at West District, Tis Hazari and Principal District & Sessions Judge at East District, Karkardooma. He is a trained mediator and has interest in literature. 

Justice Vinod Kumar was elevated as permanent judge of the High Court of Delhi on 24^thJuly 2025 marking a new chapter in his extensive service in the judiciary.
