Born on 09^th January, and after completing his schooling from Ludlow Castle in 1982 earned his B.COM (HONS) in 1985, L.L.B in 1988 and L.L.M in 2006 apart from having a PG Diploma in Cyber Laws and Internet.

He joined Delhi Judicial Service in 1992 and promoted to Delhi Higher Judicial Service in 2003. Apart from presiding over various jurisdictions as Civil Judge, Metropolitan Magistrate, Addl. District & Sessions Judge, Special Judge (PC Act), Principal Judge, Family Court, shouldered the responsibilities as Principal District and Sessions Judge in North District, North-West District at Rohini Court Complex and in New Delhi District at Patiala House Court Complex, New Delhi. As Additional Registrar worked in Hon’ble the Supreme Court of India on deputation between 2008 to 2010.

As a trained Mediator, contributed to the settlement of even some complex cases pending for decades.

Apart from contributing in some journals, two books have been published i.e poetry compilations.  

Justice Vimal Kumar Yadav was elevated as permanent Judge of Delhi High Court on 12^th August, 2025.
