The present petition has been filed seeking extension of the parole granted to the petitioner vide order dated 28.10.2025, passed in W.P.(CRL) 3478/2025 titled as Shiva @ Uwan vs. State (NCT of Delhi). The said parole was granted for a period of four weeks, which is expiring today. 2. In the meantime, the petitioner has filed the present petition seeking extension of the parole period on the ground that his wife has suffered a miscarriage and requires continued medical care and assistance 3. The learned Standing Counsel appearing on behalf of the State submits that they have verified the documents and the fact that the wife of the petitioner has suffered a miscarriage. However, he submits that Rule 1212 of the Delhi Prison Rules, 2018 permits grant of parole only for a maximum period of eight weeks in a calendar year, which may be availed in two spells of four weeks each. 4. It is submitted that the petitioner has already availed one spell of parole and the period of 28 days is expiring today. 5. The learned Standing Counsel further submits that, keeping in view the medical condition of the petitioner wife, who has since been discharged from the hospital on 01.10.2025 and has been advised mild rest for a period of seven days, the State has no objection to a limited extension of parole. 6. Keeping in view the facts and circumstances of the case, the medical condition of the petitioner’s wife, and the verification of medical records by the Investigating Officer, who is present in person, the parole granted to the petitioner is extended for a further period of seven days from today. 7.
