Versus KRISHAN AND ANR .....Respondents Through: Mr. U.S. Gautam, Adv. CORAM: HON'BLE THE CHIEF JUSTICE HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE TEJAS KARIA TEJAS KARIA, J. (ORAL) 1. The present Appeals have been listed pursuant to the order dated 15.09.2026 passed in LPA No. 483/2025, on an application filed on behalf of the Respondents therein seeking disposal of the said Appeal in terms of the judgment rendered by this Court in University of Delhi & Anr. v. Deepak & Ors., Neutral Citation No. 2026:DHC:7413-DB (“Judgment”). 2. Learned Counsel appearing for the Appellants and the Respondents in LPA Nos. 482/2025, 483/2025 and 486/2025 (“Appeals”) submitted that the facts arising in the Appeals are identical to those in LPA No. 440/2025, which was decided by the Judgment, and that the Appeals may accordingly be disposed of in terms thereof. LPA Nos. 482/2025 and 483/2025 concern recruitment to the post of Laboratory Attendant, whereas LPA No. 486/2025 concerns recruitment to the post of Library Attendant. 3. Recruitment to the posts of Laboratory Attendant and Library Attendant (“Posts”) was undertaken by the Appellant-University of Delhi (“University”) pursuant to an advertisement issued in February 2021 (“Advertisement”). Thereafter, the University, vide Notifications dated 25.08.2023 and 29.08.2023 (“Notifications”), placed the joining of the candidates selected for the Posts on hold pending examination of the selection process. Aggrieved by the Notifications, the Respondents in the present Appeals instituted W.P.(C) Nos. 4368/2024, 582/2024 and 3661/2024 (“Writ Petitions”). The Writ Petitions, together with other connected matters, were decided by the learned Single Judge by a common judgment dated 30.05.2025 (“Impugned Judgment”). 4. Vide the Impugned Judgment, the learned Single Judge quashed the Notifications and directed the University to complete the remaining formalities relating to document verification, bring the selection process initiated pursuant to the Advertisement to its logical conclusion and, upon appointment, permit the Respondents in the Appeals to join at their respective places of posting in the University with consequential benefits. 5. The Notifications and the directions issued vide the Impugned Judgment were considered by this Court in the Judgment while deciding LPA No. 440/2025, which concerned recruitment to the post of Laboratory Attendant pursuant to the Advertisement. For the reasons recorded in the Judgment, this Court allowed LPA No. 440/2025 and set aside the Impugned Judgment. 6. As the Appeals involve identical challenge to the Notifications concerning the recruitment to the Posts and challenge the same Impugned Judgement, the findings recorded in the Judgment in relation to the Notifications apply with equal force to the Appeals. 7. Accordingly, the Appeals are allowed in terms of the Judgment rendered by this Court in University of Delhi & Anr. v. Deepak & Ors., Neutral Citation No. 2026:DHC:7413-DB. The Impugned Judgment, insofar as it pertains to the Writ Petitions under challenge in the Appeals, is hereby set aside. All pending Applications, if any, also stand disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. TEJAS KARIA, J DEVENDRA KUMAR UPADHYAYA, CJ SEPTEMBER 16, 2026 HK LPA 482/2025 with connected matters Page 1 of 2
