J U D G M E N T    (ORAL)


1.	Petitioner seeks quashing of case FIR No. 156/2013 of PS Mehrauli for offence under Section 498A/406/34 IPC on the ground that the complainant de facto (respondent no.2) has compromised the disputes with the petitioner.

2.	The matter was initially taken up on 06.01.2026 and on that day, learned APP for State after accepting notice submitted that there is one more accused, namely Avnish Upadhyay, but as regards that person the present petition is silent. Subsequently, the petitioner filed CRL.M.A 29238/2026 seeking to place on record a copy of order dated 18.03.2026 of learned trial court. By way of order dated 18.03.2026, the learned trial court has described that against Avnish Upadhyay, there is no allegation, so he is neither an accused nor a suspect. The said application is allowed. 

3.	In view of the aforesaid, learned APP for State, assisted by IO/SI Varsha, submits that now they have no objection to this petition. 

4.	Respondent no.2, identified by the IO, also present in court, accepts notice. 

5.	In view of nature of this petition, I have spoken with respondent no.2 in Hindi and it is stated by her that now she has settled all her disputes with the petitioner. It is stated by her that they are blessed with a child and all three of them are living happily together as a family. Respondent no.2 submits that since for past four years she is living happily with the petitioner, now she does not wish to prosecute him further. 

6.	Having spoken with respondent no.2 in Hindi, I am satisfied that it would be in the interest of justice not to push the parties through a full dress trial. 

7.	Therefore, the petition is allowed and FIR No. 156/2013 of PS Mehrauli for offence under Section 498A/406/34 IPC as well as proceedings arising out of the same are quashed.

8.	Accompanying application also stands disposed of.
