J U D G M E N T    (ORAL)

1.	Petitioners, who got married against wishes of father of petitioner no.1 have filed this petition seeking directions to the local police to provide them protection. 

2.	Learned ASC appearing on behalf of police authorities Respondents no.1 and 2 accepts notice. 

3.	Respondent no.3, identified by SI Satish of PS Prashant Vihar also accepts notice. 

4.	Keeping in mind nature of the dispute, I spoke with the parties in Hindi. Both petitioners are major in age, so competent to take their personal decisions. Petitioner no.1 states that she voluntarily got married with petitioner no.2 and now they are happily living together. Respondent no.3, father of petitioner no.1 submits that he does not approve of marital relation between the petitioners but assures that he does not intend to cause any harm to the petitioners. Having spoken with the parties, it appears that respondent no.3 is genuinely heartbroken with this marriage but his assurance not to cause any harm to the petitioners does not sound unbelievable. 

5.	The Registry is directed to redact names and addresses of petitioners from all places in record to ensure their safety. 

6.	From the residential area of the petitioners, SI Vivek Gautam has appeared and has already provided to the petitioners mobile phone numbers of the beat constable, whom they can call up at the time of distress. Additionally, the SHO concerned shall keep a watch on the petitioners so that no harm is caused to them. 

7.	Accordingly, the petition stands disposed of.
