The present petition seeks quashing of FIR No. 0008/2020 registered with PS. Lodi Colony against the petitioners under Sections 323/ 341/ 506/509/34 of IPC, 1860 and consequential proceedings in SC No. 278/2023 on the basis of settlement between the petitioners and the respondent no.2. 2. The petitioner no.1 and the respondent no.2 are present in Court whereas the petitioner no.2 has joined the proceedings virtually. The Investigating Officer (I.O.) has identified the parties. 3. The aforesaid FIR was registered on account of an incident which took place on 13.01.2020. A Settlement Deed dated 11.05.2026 has been entered into between the parties. The same is annexed as Annexure (P-6) to the present petition and reads as follows:- 4. The charges in the matter have not yet been framed. The dispute between the parties is purely matrimonial and private in nature and the petitioner no.1 and the respondent no.2 both submit that the same has been amicably resolved. 5. Considering the same and the dicta laid down by the Supreme Court in Gian Singh v. State of Punjab, (2012) 10 SCC 303; and Narinder Singh v. State of Punjab, (2014) 6 SCC 466, there is no impediment in acceding to the joint request of the petitioners and the respondent no.2 for quashing of the aforesaid FIR No. 0008/2020 and all proceedings emanating therefrom. 6. Accordingly, the FIR No. 0008/2020 and all proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed. 7. The petition is allowed in the above terms.
